What’s new
Two free tools for Victoria’s 2026–27 nominations are live on ImmiTrend.
- Victorian Points Test (VPT) calculator — work out the score Victoria will rank your 190 or 491 ROI by, out of 950, using the official 2026–27 tables. It shows which stream you’re ranked in and what would add the most points.
- Victorian ROI pool — an unofficial, user-reported pool. Victoria doesn’t publish its ROI pool, cut-offs or round dates, so we’re building one together: share your planned ROI and see where you’d stand.
Both are free. Viewing needs no account; sharing your ROI needs a free one.
What Victoria changed for 2026–27
Victoria announced its 2026–27 skilled nomination changes on 13 October 2026:
- Every earlier ROI is void. Everyone, including people with an ROI already lodged, submits a new one when 2026–27 opens. The opening date hasn’t been announced.
- New fees: an ROI costs $60 + GST ($66) once per program year. A 190 or 491 nomination application costs $180 + GST ($198), and you only pay it if you’re invited.
- The VPT is public: seven weighted factors, a maximum of 950, and no pass mark. Each round invites the highest totals.
- Two streams: “most competitive” ranks every ROI together; “priority industry” ranks ROIs within Healthcare, Social assistance, Education and Construction (101 occupations).
How the VPT scores you
Age carries the most weight, and the VPT scores things SkillSelect doesn’t, such as your earnings in Victoria:
| Factor | Max points | How it scores |
|---|---|---|
| Age | 300 | 18 → 265, 20–29 → 300, 30 → 286, 35 → 210, 40 → 136, 44 → 16; 45+ not eligible |
| English | 200 | Competent 0 · Proficient 100 · Superior 200 |
| Experience in your nominated occupation | 100 | 0 → 0, 1 yr → 20, 2–3 → 40, 4–5 → 60, 6–7 → 80, more than 8 → 100 (Australian + overseas) |
| Education | 100 | Other 25 · Bachelor 50 · Masters 75 · PhD 100 |
| Occupation skill level | 50 | Skill level 1 only |
| Partner | 50 | Only if partner skills are claimed and your partner's occupation is a priority occupation |
| Earnings in Victoria | 150 | From $80,000 (8) in $5,000 bands to $170,000+ (150); only if you work in Victoria now |
| Total | 950 |
Two details the calculator handles for you. Victoria’s experience bands are 0, 1, 2–3, 4–5 and 6–7 years, then more than 8; exactly 8 years isn’t listed, so we count it as 6–7 (80 points) until Victoria clarifies. And the partner’s 50 points only count when your partner’s occupation is on the priority list.
Every value in the calculator was checked against Victoria’s VPT page on 14 October 2026. Work out your VPT →
The ROI pool: why and how
The pool collects ROIs that ImmiTrend users choose to share. Join it and you’ll see three things:
- Where you stand: the share of people planning to apply whose VPT is below yours, overall and in your priority industry (Healthcare, Social assistance, Education and Construction are each ranked separately, so each is compared separately).
- People per score band: how many sit in each 50-point VPT band, filterable by industry.
- Cut-off bands, after Victoria opens: confirm you submitted, with the date. After each round we’ll ask one question, “were you invited?”, and those answers show each round’s lowest invited band, which nobody else publishes. We show bands, never exact scores.
The chart opens at 30 shared ROIs, and each industry group at 10. Percentiles always say “of N”, and small groups are flagged, so you can judge how much weight to give them.
Add your ROI in 3 steps
- Open the calculator and fill in your occupation, age, English, experience, education, partner and Victorian earnings.
- Press “Compare with others planning to apply”. Choose 190 or 491 and enter your SkillSelect points, then tick “these are my real details today, not a what-if”.
- Sign in with a free account (your answers are kept). You’ll see where you stand, and we’ll email you once when Victoria opens ROIs.
Sharing also adds a VIC track to your dashboard, so you can follow your journey from ROI to nomination to visa.
What we keep, and what others see
We keep your points per factor, which show your age and salary band, plus your occupation and the date. Never your name or contact details. Others only see totals for groups of 10 or more, and a group stays hidden if showing it would let someone work out a smaller one. The pool refreshes about once an hour, not the moment you share. You can update your entry any time; deleting the track removes it.
Frequently asked questions
›Is the ROI pool Victoria's official data?
No. Victoria doesn't publish its ROI pool, cut-offs or round dates. The ImmiTrend pool only counts ROIs that users chose to share, so treat it as a guide, not as Victoria's ranking.
›Can I share before Victoria opens 2026–27 ROIs?
Yes. Before opening you share the ROI you plan to submit, and it's counted as a plan. When Victoria opens, we'll email you once to confirm you submitted.
›Does a high percentile mean I'll be invited?
No. It compares you with the people who shared here, not with everyone Victoria ranks, and invitations also depend on how many places Victoria has and the pool at each round.
›How much does a Victorian ROI cost in 2026–27?
$60 plus GST ($66) once per program year. A 190 or 491 nomination application costs $180 plus GST ($198), and you only pay it if you're invited.
›Do I need to submit a new ROI if I lodged one before?
Yes. Victoria has made every earlier ROI void, so everyone submits a new one when the 2026–27 program opens.
›What happens to my data if I change my mind?
You can update your entry any time from the calculator. Deleting the VIC track on your dashboard removes it from the pool. Others only ever see totals for groups of 10 or more.
